Audi factory expansion

Audi started expanding its Győr factory in 2010 in an area of approximately 2,000,000 square metres. Merkbau Kft has performed construction works in an area of 56,000 square metres with investment costs of up to HUF 4.5 billion to date. In 2011 we finished the construction works of a two-storey, 10,000-square metre energy centre made from pre-cast reinforced concrete structure. This building is connected to 8-metre high cooling basins occupying an area of 1,500 square metres, made of monolithic reinforced concrete. In 2012 a 4-storey, 3200-square metre office building and a building for welfare facilities were built, and the monolithic reinforced concrete structure of a 5,000-square metre office building was also constructed. 2014 was a significant milestone in the development. Formerly occupying 40,000 square metres, the Audi G20 hall was extended with an additional 20,000 square metres. The production and logistics area occupies 15,000 square metres of this, while offices and welfare facilities take up 5,000 square metres. This was the year when the company finished the structural engineering works of the 5,000-square metre 4-storey engine testing building. In 2015, the logistics area was expanded with an 11,000-square metre hall.
